ABAKÚA Welcomes John Piazza

ABAKÚA would like to present it's newest member John Piazza.

John Piazza is a Brooklyn raised Italian who began his mambo career in 2002. He began his training with Jason Myra and Nelson and Elizabeth Martinez at SalsaGroove in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. After excelling in these classes, this young dancer quickly became one of the principle dancers of Jason Myra's dance company, Tumbao. Just entering the professional world of Latin dance, John shined on stage with his star-quality smile and sophisticated body movement. He continued his new dance career with a concert for the famous Andy Montanez with choreographer Addie Diaz and her company Addie-tude. He also worked with Marisol Ramirez and her Latin Fever dance company. John became a dedicated student of Frankie Martinez in 2005. His dedication paid off as Frankie invited him to train with the dance company. About one year after his training, Frankie officially welcomed John as an ABAKÚA dancer. John is looking foward to a long future as an ABAKÚA dancer.

Personal interests:
1. Sports
2. Sunday night pasta with the family
3. Avid Latin music collector

If you see him, please give him a well-deserved pat on the back. He is the embodiment of hard work and dedication.

Last ABAKÚA Social of 2007!

We hope you have enjoyed this holiday season. We at ABAKUA certainly have a lot to be thankful for. Not least of all, we have been embraced in our new home at You Should Be Dancing Studio! The studio has everything that we could ask for in a dance studio-even it's own dance club complete with bar! This bodes well for those who have enjoyed our parties in the past.

Club 412 is the name of the club and it will be the new home of the ABAKUA Social. Our next party will be special in that it is the last party of the year but the first party at our new place. To make it even greater, there will be a performance by Manny's Performance Project! This group of ABAKUA students has trained together for the last 12 weeks and will present their showcase this Friday night.

If you have decided to drop all plans to come hang out with us, see below for the info:
